Claims

A dot display area in which phosphor dots are arranged in a matrix on a substrate that forms part of the vacuum vessel, and numbers, letters, etc. are fixed adjacent to this dot display area and parallel to the direction in which the anodes are arranged. Line-shaped grids are arranged at a predetermined pitch in a direction perpendicular to the arrangement direction of each anode of the dot display section above the fixed pattern display section on which the pattern is formed, the dot display section, and the fixed pattern display section. What is claimed is: 1. A composite display type fluorescent display tube, comprising: a grid electrode section formed by a dot display section, the dot display section being driven to emit light, and the fixed pattern display section being caused to emit light.
