Abstract
PURPOSE:To execute a data display of a character, etc., to have the redundancy, and to exactly detect a failure part in a short time by constituting the titled panel so that source electrodes of two TFTs, and gate electrodes are connected to two pieces of adjacent signal lines, and two pieces of adjacent scanning lines, respectively. CONSTITUTION:To a picture element 7 consisting of a picture element electrode 4, a common electrode 6 and a liquid crystal 5 which has been enclosed between them, drain electrodes of two TFTs 1, 2 are connected in common. On the other hand, gate electrodes of two TFTs 1, 2, and source electrodes are connected to scanning lines Y1, Y2, and X1, X2, respectively, therefore, these two TFTs are independent electrically. Accordingly, to each picture element, the same data can be written by different timings by using two TFTs. That is, even if one TFT is disconnected, when the other is normal, a regular signal can be applied, and also, the gate electrode and the source electrode of two TFTs are connected to different wirings. In such a way, an address of a failure TFT can be detected electrically and exactly in a short time.
