Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a ceramic form of high dimensional precision and mechanical strength with precision forming, by primary forming heated and softened clay in forging or pressing process followed by secondary forming while calcining and softening. CONSTITUTION:A raw material as the material to be processed 3, containing ca. 15-20wt.% of water, a mixture of Shigaraki clay and other one(s) of different land origin is extruded through the nozzle 2 of a soil kneader 1. Thence, the material 3 thus produced is fed to a dryer 4 to reduce the water content of said material 3 to ca. 7-0wt.% followed by feeding to calcination oven 6, preheating in the preheating section 7, softening in the softening section 8, forming in the primary forming section 9, softening again, forming in the secondary forming section 10 consisting of roll etc. and feeding to the annealing section 11. The resulting product 13 is then fed to the carrying section 12. Said forging is performed only under softened state, therefore being not carried out when hardened or at reduced temperatures. Following the secondary forming, a glazing is done followed by feeding into the calcination oven to melt the glaze into enamel.
