Abstract

PURPOSE: To rapidly perform page turning of several pages by the almost the same mechanism by mounting a page turning means comprising several friction parts for separating a page to be turned from the other pages per one stroke of a driving source for driving the friction parts or one rotation thereof. CONSTITUTION: A bankbook 17 is conveyed to an automatic page turning mechanism part and stopped at a specific position. Then a clutch 14 for conveying roller is switched OFF, and a clutch 12 for turning pages is switched ON to drive a page turning roller 13. The page turning roller comprises, for example, three friction parts, and in the case when the page turning is performed for three pages, a first friction part 18 separates a first page 19 to be turned of a bankbook from the other pages, then a second friction part 20 separates a second page 21 to be turned from the other pages, and further a third friction part 22 separates a third page 23 to be turned from the other pages. On this occasion, the positions of the first through third friction parts on the paper turning roller are controlled by detecting a slit of a shielding plate 16 mounted coaxially with the page turning roller by a photoelectric element 15.
