Abstract
PURPOSE:To freely change width of a cast slab by matching two sets of devices providing driving mechanism for running a link to form a side dam and independently shifting two sets of devices, respectively. CONSTITUTION:By protruding B unit toward center direction of the belt 30 by distance (a) at the time of casting A unit by the slab width W', as the side dam block 1b of the B unit comes in gap between belts 30 after half circular moving, the narrower slab 21 can be produced by (a). In the width changing, when boundary joining part of both blocks 1a, 1b comes to the horizontal direction, by protruding the B unit, both side blocks 1a, 1b forms the step difference (a) at the boundary joining part as mutually sliding. By repeatedly executing this motion with A and E units, the widely width change of the slab 21 can be executed.
