Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture easily an air cleaner element by folding a filter paper, cutting it into a specified shape, then, putting it in a metal mold to molding it into a integrated body by applying resin to the side edges of a frame member and a filter paper unit member. CONSTITUTION:An air cleaner element 3 comprises a plurality of filter paper unit members 4 and a resin member 7, its external shape being formed into a circular form. The filter paper unit member 4 is formed into a specified shape by corrugating sheet-like filter papers and cutting the outer periphery thereof by application of press working. Each of the folded filter paper unit members 4 is inserted into a metal mold, where connecting portions 8, inner frame members 9 and an outer frame member 10 are formed by pouring resins thereinto to complete an air cleaner element. Since the connecting parts of the filter paper unit members and the inner and outer frame members are formed into a body, manufacturing processes can be simplified, omitting an adhesion process.
