Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by separating a heater into a plurality of areas, providing pressure sensors to detect pressurized positions in a carpet, and driving the heaters for the areas corresponding to the positions detected by the pressure sensors. CONSTITUTION:The part of a carpet other than a control part 1 is divided into a plurality of areas (a)-(d), and a separate heater 2 is provided for each area (a), while pressure sensors 3f...3f and 4f...4f are disposed in matrix form to pass the center of each area (a). If a man sits on the carpet, a voltage is produced from the pressure sensors 3f, 4f at the position, and an area (a) and areas (a) around it where the man is sitting are detected by a position detecting circuit 6 based on the coordinates. The heaters 2 for the detected areas (a) are driven by a heater drive circuit 7, so only the area (a) and the areas (a) around it are heated. This results in heating of only necessary areas (a), thereby power consumption is reduced.
