Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate development of an efficient system of good describability by providing a means which generates external procedures as a program module, a means which calls external procedures on another task, and an inter-task communication means. CONSTITUTION:A knowledge base 10 designates external procedures on an external procedure task 2 in the same form as an expert system task 1, and an inference mechanism 11 performs inference by this designation to start an external procedure interface 12. The interface 12 transmits external procedure information and parameter information to a control module 23 through communication modules 13 and 21 and an external procedure interface module 22. The module 23 sets parameters in accordance with the external procedure interface to start designated external procedures. The return value of external procedures is returned to the mechanism 11 through the reverse course. Thus, the efficient system of good describability is easily developed.
