Abstract
PURPOSE:To always direct the head position toward the center and to eliminate the need for the adjustment of the position of sensor by providing the zero track sensor position to the outer circumference of zero track in case of controlling the magnetic head in the radial direction of the disk based on the servo information included in each sector of the track. CONSTITUTION:Servo information is recorded at the outer side from the outermost circumference data track and the position of the magnetic head 30 is always moved toward the center. If the objective position of a position detection means 31 is the zero track and the head 30 is placed similarly to the zero track 1, outputs of head position detecting recording data 23, 24 are made equal and an error signal (b) is zero. When the objective position is the zero track 1 and the head 30 is located between the zero track 1 and the track 2, data 23, 25, 26 are zero and the data 24 is maximum, then the means 31 uses the signal (b) to move the head position in the track direction. The processing above is repeated to always move the head 30 toward the center.
