The finger grip portion of the operation lever, which is gripped by a finger bent in a U-shape, has a finger contact surface that is a peripheral surface thereof and is formed flat. Therefore, the fingers that grip the finger rest during operation slip on the flat surface of the finger rest, making it impossible to efficiently transmit the force of the fingers to the operating lever. Here, for example, a finger rest with a substantially semicircular or triangular cross section, which is operated by hooking a fingertip bent in an F-shape on the finger rest of the operation lever, has been conventionally manufactured in U.S. Pat.
− The bicycle operating device according to No. 1693, in which the top of the curved surface of the finger contact surface of the control lever is displaced in a direction away from the direction in which the finger is held out during operation, and the cross section of the finger contact surface on the extended side has a large radius of curvature. A configuration consisting of is known.

In the above-mentioned conventional configuration, the bent part of the fingertip bent in an F-shape on the finger rest, that is, the joint part, can be engaged with the curved top part of the finger contact surface, so the operating lever can be pulled while in this engaged state. However, if the finger rest is gripped with a finger bent in a U-shape, and a force in the rotational direction is applied that causes the operating finger to wrap around the operating lever during operation, the above-mentioned conventional technology There is a disadvantage that there is no abutting force between the two and the slip of the operating finger cannot be prevented.

This device was created as a result of intensive research in view of the above circumstances, and its main problem was to provide a finger rest that restrains the force in the rotational direction that is applied to the fingers when operating the control lever. The purpose is to suppress slips that occur between the lever and the finger contact surface, and to efficiently transmit the operating force applied during operation to the operating lever.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, this invention has a finger grip structure for the operation lever that tilts toward or away from the handle to perform a predetermined operation, and (a) has a finger contact surface of the finger grip. It consists of a tip-side finger contact surface and an opposing palm-side finger contact surface so that it can be grasped with fingers bent in a U-shape. A technical measure is taken to form an outwardly bulging step so as to be formed.

The finger contact surface of the finger hook is provided with a tip side finger contact surface section and an opposing palm side finger contact surface section, and is gripped with a finger bent in a U-shape. Since a step is formed in the middle of the palm-side finger contact surface, a depression is formed between the base end of the palm-side finger contact surface and the step. The finger contact surface of the finger grip portion formed in this way can be grasped with fingers bent in a U-shape. Therefore, while the finger drawn during operation grips the finger rest, a rotational force acts in a direction to wrap around the finger rest. At this time, the bulge of the palm at the base of the clenched fingers engages with the recess formed in the finger contact surface on the palm side and collides with the step, so the rotation of the fingers is restricted and the operating force is reduced. It is efficiently transmitted to the control lever without converting it into rotational force.

Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment in which this invention is applied to a brake lever attached to a flat handlebar of a bicycle will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3. 1 is a brake lever provided on the flat handlebar H of the bicycle, and a lever bracket 2
is pivotally supported via a pivot 3. The lever bracket 2 is vertically fixed to a flat handlebar H of a bicycle via a tightening screw 4 and a band member 5. Further, the brake lever 1 has an engaging portion 6 for latching a brake wire on the base end side, and a pivot portion 7 for connecting to the lever bracket 2, and a finger hook portion 8 at the tip. This brake lever is pivotally connected to the lever bracket 2 via the pivot shaft 3 at a pivot portion 7, and the finger hook portion 8 of the brake lever is arranged in an inclined position such that the tip thereof descends slightly along the flat handle H. Moreover, the grip G of the handle H has a normal configuration set at intervals that allow the grip G to be operated with the hand holding the handle H. In this embodiment, the finger rest part 8 has a substantially rectangular cross section, and includes a finger rest part 8a made of a rectangular metal material, and a finger rest cover made of synthetic resin that is fitted onto and fixed to the shaft part and has each corner curved. It consists of part 8b. The outer surface of the finger cover portion 8b serves as a finger contact surface 9 of the hand operating the lever. The finger contact surface 9 has a substantially horizontally U-shaped cross section, and includes a distal finger contact surface portion 9a on which the tip of the finger held out during operation is latched, and an intermediate finger contact surface portion 9a' connected thereto. It is composed of a palm-side finger contact surface portion 9b facing substantially parallel to the tip side finger contact surface portion 9a. A stepped portion 10 is formed on the palm-side finger contact surface portion 9b at a midway position in the circumferential direction and protrudes outward. Therefore, a depression is formed from the base end of the palm-side finger contact surface portion 9b to the step portion 10 at the halfway position. In addition, in the case of the illustrated example, this stepped portion 10 is formed in a series along the longitudinal direction of the finger rest cover portion 8b, and is gradually inclined upward toward the tip end side of the brake lever 1, so that when the brake is on standby, the step portion 10 is formed in a series along the longitudinal direction of the finger rest cover portion 8b. Since it is formed so as to be parallel to the lever, it is easy to fit the hand operating the lever, but in this invention, the longitudinal arrangement shape of the step part 10 is not particularly limited. Moreover, it may be formed continuously in the longitudinal direction, or it may be divided into several strips. With this structure, when operating the brake lever 1, the operation will be described. The operating finger part is bent into a U-shape, and the tip side of the finger is on the tip side finger contact surface part 9a. The middle part of the finger is hooked on the middle finger contact surface 9a', and the finger is in a standby position with the base side pressed against the palm side finger contact surface 9b. Next, clasp the hand you are operating (force F works in the diagram) and move brake lever 1 to flat handle H.
(Grip G) When the finger is pressed against the finger contact surface 9 of the brake lever 1, the finger tries to rotate in the direction of tightening the hand. However, the thick bulge at the base of the fingers of the palm fits into the depression formed on the proximal end side of the palm side finger contact surface portion 9b and is restrained by the raised portion of the stepped portion 10 (in the figure, R force works). Therefore, the fingers gripping the brake lever 1 can be prevented from slipping on the finger contact surface 9. In this embodiment, the tip side finger contact surface section 9a to the middle finger contact surface section 9a' are formed in a substantially orthogonal shape (L-shaped cross section) to improve the grip of the tip side finger, but these portions are formed in a curved shape. The same effect as above can be achieved (see FIG. 4). Further, the finger rest part may have a separate construction of a cover body (finger rest cover part) forming a finger contact surface and a shaft part (finger rest shaft part) as in this embodiment, or it may be of an integrated construction. Good too.

In this invention, as described above, the slippage of the operating fingers when operating the lever is eliminated, so that the force F applied to the operating lever can be efficiently converted into lever operating force. In addition, since the stepped portion of the palm side finger contact surface portion collides with the contacting finger, a latching force is generated in the circumferential direction of the finger hook portion, and the tip side finger contact portion opposite to the palm side finger contact surface portion In combination with the tightening force of the finger tip inward toward the finger hook generated at the surface, the above-mentioned latching force can be increased, which is advantageous in that the feeling of fitting the operating lever can be further improved.
