Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare good printed matter by effectively preventing the drying of ink to stabilize the transfer of the ink to a plate cylinder, by blowing cooling air to the surfaces of the rollers of an inking roller group to cool the same. CONSTITUTION:Longitudinally elongated cooling air nozzles 4, 4... are provided on both lateral sides of a roller group G and the cooling air blown out from these nozzles 4 is allowed to flow to the surfaces of rollers 1, 1... along the axial direction of the roller group G to uniformly cool the same. When the cooling air is allowed to flow along the roller axes as mentioned above, it can be avoided that the cooling air is locally applied to the surfaces of the rollers and the local evaporation of the solvent of ink can be effectively prevented. When cooling air is sent in from a lateral direction, the cooling air can be also applied to the rollers 1 arranged inside the roller group G. Since the whole of the inking roller group G can be uniformly and directly cooled, the drying of the ink can be effectively prevented and the transfer of the ink to the plate cylinder is stabilized to make it possible to prepare good printed matter.
