Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled remedy having controlling action on release of drug, readily bondable to mucosa in application to the vagina, capable of feeding a drug to the affected part for a long time, by dispersing specific particles into a water-soluble high polymer to give a base and dispersing an active substance into the base. CONSTITUTION:One or more substances effective for treating candidiasis are dispersed into a base for preparation. In the operation, a material obtained by dispersing granules comprising a water-insoluble high polymer, a high polymer decomposable in organisms or a high polymer soluble in a limited pH range into a water-soluble high polymer (e.g. methyl cellulose) is used as the base. The remedy is readily bonded to mucosa of vaginal mucosa, slightly releasable because of high adhesion and can freely control release of a treating active component. Use of the drug can maintain medicinal effects for a long period and show immediate effects.
