Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled neutral of alkaline composition effective not only in cleaning teeth but also in promoting reinforcement and recalcification of tooth surfaces, by blending and containing octacalcium phosphate. CONSTITUTION:A neutral or alkaline dentifrice composition containing octacalcium phosphate [Ca8H2(PO4)6.5H2O] in an amount of >=5wt.% in basic recipe ingredients of a dentifrice used in the oral cavity. The average particle diameter of the octacalcium phosphate powder is preferably 3-4mum and the maximum particle diameter is preferably <=40mum for providing the above- mentioned composition with moderate polishing action or effective plaque removing properties.
