Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent electrostatic charging owing to drying not to be generated in delivery, by a method wherein a space adjacent to a discharge surface of a recording head is kept under a state of much steam by a humid atmosphere generation means, the generated steam is simultaneously made to surround a periphery of a sheet delivery path to remove idle ink discharge, stable ink discharge is also made to be obtained and besides, suitable humidity is again given to a recording sheet which has been recorded. CONSTITUTION:A heater 10 is arranged along a rear side of a recording sheet 7 on an upsteam side of a platen 4. Then, the recording sheet 7 is heated from the rear side with this heater 10, and water contained in the recording sheet 7 is made to be released. Further, a delivery path above a recording head 1 is covered by a hood member 21 so established as to enclose the delivery path of the recording sheet 7 from an upper part of the recording head 1 to a sheet feed roller 8, and steam evaporated from the recording sheet 7 is stayed in the hood member 21. Thereby, an atmosphere around an orifice is durably kept under a humid state and besides, a jam can be prevented from occurrence owing to paper curl by preventing static electricity from occurrence on a surface of the recording sheet 7 which has been recorded.
