Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the possibility that positions of respective members do not meet each other and improve sufficiently a quality-conforming article yield rate as well as productive efficiency, by fixing a protecting pipe with the aid of the first and second metal fittings. CONSTITUTION:The first metal fitting 31 is arranged on the end part of a protecting pipe 17 which is in the vicinity of the spherical point part 15 of a spherical point fiber 16. After aligning a laser diode chip 19 with the spherical. point part 15 of the fiber 16, the metal fitting 31 is fixed by welding on a base 12 by YAG laser and the like and then, the pipe 17 is fixed fiber welding on the metal fitting 31. The second metal fitting 32 is arranged at the position on the pipe 17 which is further separated from the spherical point part 15 in comparison with the metal fitting 31. The chip 19 is aligned again with the spherical point part 15 by moving the pipe 17 slightly and after that, the metal fitting 32 is fixed by welding on the base 12 by YAG laser and then, the pipe 17 is fixed by welding to the metal fitting 32. In this way, the possibility that positions of respective members do not meet each other is eliminated and a quality-conforming article yield rate as well as production efficiency are improved sufficiently.
