Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to distinguish an usual switching off and a switching off due to an over current of a circuit breaker by providing an elastic stopper the free end of which is touched to the joint portion of the toggle link, the connecting portion of the link portion of the operating handle to the link pin, so as to restrict the turning motion of the operating handle. CONSTITUTION:A stopper 31 made of elastic plate such as a leaf spring is provided so that the free end of the stopper is touched to the one side leg of a link pin 12 connected to the link portion 11a of the operation handle 11 when the said handle is turned to OFF. The stopper 31 is fixed to the insulation case 30 and the spring strength of which is selected to be balanced with that of a switching spring 13 at the middle position when the operating handle is turned from ON to OFF by means of the switching spring 13 after the over current switching off. When the circuit breaker is turned on again, the operating handle 11 is turned manually to OFF against the spring force of the stopper 31, and the stopper is deformed forcedly so that the one end of the holder 6 is contacted to the square window 21a of the moving iron piece 21. Therefore by selecting the spring strength of the stopper 31 so as to be balanced with that of the turning off strength of the operating handle 11 at the over current switching off the usual switching off and the over current switching off can be distinguished.
