Abstract

PURPOSE: To overhaul a lining appropriately at a low vibration in a short time by injecting high pressure water to a refractory lining to be disassembled together with a high temperature flame from an injection nozzle. CONSTITUTION: High pressure water is made adjustable in amount by a water feeding device. The presence and size of ore are detected by a magnetic sensor 18 and a high temperature flame is injected from a burner 16 utilizing a signal thereof. A nozzle is so arranged to allow simultaneous operation of the removal of a slag and a refractory off the surface of the ore by the high pressure water, the melting of the ore by a high temperature flame and the explosion of steam with molten pig iron at one location. The nozzle is mounted on an operating arm 5 made free to stroke forward or backward, the adjustment of the angle of injection and the distance between surfaces is made with respect to a lining surface and the surface condition is detected by an optical sensor 4. Thus, the disassembling is accomplished by automatic removal to a boundary of a reaction layer and a sound layer thereby enabling removal of the lining material accurately with a lower vibration in a short time.
