Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of excessive contraction at the mouth of container, by adding a pressing force to the predetermined annular area on the head wall of the lid shell, when the container is sealed, and making the area tilted downward, and thus a liner material being made to press against the tilting inner side part. CONSTITUTION:The container is equipped with a mouth part 2, which has an approximately cylindrical shape; on the outer circumferential surface of the mouth part 2, a male thread 6 and an annular stopper chin 8 below the thread 6 are formed; and a lid 18 is composed of a thin plate metal shell 20 and a plastic liner 22. When the lid 18 is fitted on the mouth part 2 of the container, pressing force is applied to an annular area 52, which is located corresponding with a tilting inner side part 12 at an annular top surface 10 of the mouth part 2; thus the annular area 52 is made to tilt downward in the inner direction of radius, and the pressing force to the tilting inner side part 12 of the mouth part 2 is increased; and the liner 22 is sufficiently firmly pressed to the tilting inner side part 12. Since this pressing force owns an element to resist contraction of the mouth part 2, it is maintained by the metal shell 20 which owns a comparatively large rigidity. Therefore, the generation of an excessive contraction at the mouth part 2 is securely avoided.
