Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve turning performance in a rear-wheel steering power cylinder device having two power cylinders for steering a large steering angle and for steering a small steering angle by properly using each of the cylinders in accordance with a vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION:A signal for switching a first oil pressure control valve 26 over to an oil pressure feeding side is outputted from a controller 28 at the time of low speed steering. Due to the switchover action of the first oil pressure control valve 26, oil pressure is fed from one of right and left oil chambers of a power cylinder 3 into the oil chamber 21b or 21a of a first power cylinder 21 through opposite-phase oil passages 29, 30. And, first piston rods 35, 35' start to move at the point of time of overcoming the preset force of a neutral holding mechanism, causing rear wheels to be steered in the opposite phase, at a large steering angle. At the time of high speed, a second oil pressure control valve 27 is switched over according to the signal of the controller 28 to operate a second power cylinder, thereby, the first piston rod 35 and a first cylinder tube 36 are integrally moved, causing the rear wheels to be steered in the same phase as front wheels in a small steering angle.
