Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition of a high expansion ratio and excellent strength, by mixing a specified organopolysiloxane base polymer with a specified siloxane copolymer. CONSTITUTION:An organopolysiloxane base polymer (A) is obtained by mixing a vinylic organosiloxane of formula I (wherein R<7-8> are each a monovalent hydrocarbon group other than an aliphatic unsaturated hydrocarbon group, and n is 50-2,000) and a viscosity at 25 deg.C of 20-10,000,000cSt with an organohydroxysiloxane of formula II (wherein R<9> is R<7>, a is 0-2, b is 1-3, and a+b=1-3) and a viscosity at 25 deg.C of 10-10,000cSt and an organohydrogensiloxane of formula III (wherein R<10> is R<7>, c is 0-2, d is 1-3, and c+d=1-3) and a viscosity at 25 deg.C of 1-100,000cSt. Component A is mixed with a siloxane copolymer (B) selected from a copolymer comprising units of formulas IV-VI (wherein R<1-5> are each R<7>, R<3> is H or a monovalent hydrocarbon group, n is 0-2, and m is 2-6) and a copolymer comprising units of formulas IV-VI and units of formula VII (wherein R<6> is R<7>).
