Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain high-grade iron oxide in high purification efficiency, by feeding to the table dressing process a raw material to be dressed which has been prepared by treating a starting material such as hematite ore so that the impurity content has been reduced below a specified level, and by rocking the table to afford the iron oxide particle fraction with falling power. CONSTITUTION:A starting material 1 such as hematite ore and/or magnetite ore is freed from foreign substances through a screen 2 and fed to a concentration regulation tank 3 to perform concentration regulation followed by feeding to a polishing apparatus 4 to perform polishing to an average particle size of 35-15mu, followed by, via a second concentration regulation tanks 5, classification in a cyclone 6. Thence, a fraction of larger size 6A is introduced into an agitation tank 8A while the other fraction of smaller size into a setting separation tank 7 and a subfraction of smaller size 7B is fed to an effluent thickener 22 and the other subfraction of larger size 7A to a second agitation tank 8B. The resulting raw material to be dressed with the impurity content of <=20wt.% are fed from the agitation tanks 8A, 8B to the Wilfrey table 9 and James table 10, respectively, and a table 51 is rocked, through a lever 54 supporting said table 51 at multipoint positions, so that the iron oxide particle fraction thereon may be afforded with falling power to make the particle size uniform and separate the particles into purified ores 11A, 12A and tailings ores 11B, 12B followed by feeding to the next process.
