Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce an Al alloy member having excellent wear resistance by bringing a green compact compressing rapidly cooled solidified Al alloy powder into contact with etching solution to form pitting part, thence forming a sub-strate film on this pitting part and impregnating solid lubricator. CONSTITUTION:The rapidly cooled solidified Al alloy powder (<=150mu particle size and about 5-10wt.% Zn content are desired) is compressed to form the green compact. The green compact is brought into contact with the etching solution (containing about 10-20% hydrochloric acid), to form the pitting part on at least at a part of the surface, and the sub-strate having about 0.01-0.2mm thickness is formed on the pitting part by anodic oxidation treatment. Next, the solid lubricator is impregnated on the pitting part forming the sub-strate film and as a solid lubricator, at least one kind among molybdenum disulfide, graphite, tungsten disulfide is used. By this method, the A alloy member, which is useful to produce a sliding member for piston, etc., is obtd.
