Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition composed of an animal repellent and a water-based and/or solvent-based polymer curable at normal temperature, emitting smell exhibiting offensive effect against untamed small animals but no offensive effect to human, exhibiting repelling effect over a long period and having low toxicity. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition is produced by using (A) an animal repellent stimulating the olfactory organ or gustatory organ of untamed small animals, hygienic vermin or unpleasant vermin, preferably an aluminum ammonium sulfate compound or a cycloheximide compound and (B) a water-based and/or solvent-based polymer curable at normal temperature (preferably acrylic polymer emulsion, etc., and/or ampholytic water-soluble acrylic polymer, etc., having pH of 2-11) as essential components and compounding 0.1-1wt.%, preferably 0.3-6wt.% of the component A based on the nonvolatile component of the component B. The composition easily exhibits durable repelling effect against animals by applying to an objective part in the form of a solution or impregnating the composition into a substrate such as paper and placing the substrate to an objective position.
