Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the operability to save the cost relating to the usage, by providing a receiver applying recording/reproduction by remote control from a caller in an automatic answering telephone system and allowing the caller to send a specific identification signal and to apply line interruption after the production of an incoming state, thereby driving a recording medium to the sequential recording start position. CONSTITUTION:A processor calls externally device and originates an identification code signal to apply program searching of the tape 11 to rewind the tape to a head position M1 of the tape 1. Since the telephone circuit is interrupted during the rewinding, the time is not included in the calling time and the payment of useless telephone charge is prevented. When the possessor inputs the identification code again, the presence and absence of the input of the identification code signal is discriminated. When the CPU 21 discriminates the identification code signal to be correct, the tape 11 is traveled from the head position M1 and a message recorded during the absence of the possessor is reproduced and sent sequentially from the head position M1.
