Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by changing the light-on and light-off time of a luminous element and the repeating time of them according to a tape speed with the control device of the luminous element. CONSTITUTION:A tape speed discriminating means 1 is composed of a first reel revolving number detecting means 2, a second reel revolving speed detecting means 3, a tape constant setting means 4 and a tape speed detecting means 5 to detect the tape speed from these outputs. On the other hand, a light-on and light-off timing setting means 6 is composed of a light-off time setting means 7 and a light emitting element driving means 8 to drive the light emitting element 11 intermittently. For example, when the tape traveling speed is a constant speed, the emitting period of the light emitting element 11 is made long and when the tape traveling speed is a high speed, the emitting period of the light emitting element 11 is made short comparatively. Thus, the low power consumption can be obtained.
