Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce aerodynamic drag without providing a baffle plate and thereby improve durability, on the hood construction attached to a load-carrying platform of a motor-truck, by providing the front part side in the running direction, of the roof thereof with a tapered part descending toward the roof of a driver's cabine. CONSTITUTION:A plural number of hood frames 3 with the respective upper portions thereof formed circularly are installed at a given interval on the load- carrying platform 2 of a truck 1. Each of the hood frames 3 is formed of a curved pipe in iron, aluminum, etc. In this case, the heights of hood frames 31 provided on the rear side from the intermediate part of the platform 2 are elevated by a given length in excess of the roof height of a driver's cabine 4. On the other hand, hood frames 32 provided on the front part side of the platform 2 are lowered progressively by a given length toward the running direction of the truck 1. Hence the upper face portion of the hood frames 32 is formed in a barrel shape and tapered to descent toward the roof of the driver' s cabine 4, in the state that the frames are covered with a hood in canvas and the like.
