Abstract

PURPOSE:To reliably prevent the generation of reverse rolling by determining couter-steering of a vehicle when a direction of an estimated lateral acceleration of the vehicle differs from that of a detected lateral acceleration, and retaining a torsional quantity of a stabilizer to a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:Means M1 adjusts a torsional quantity of a stabilizer according to an external command. Means M2 and M3 detect a vehicle speed and a steering angle, respectively. Means M4 outputs to the means M1 a command for changing the torsional quantity to a target torsional quantity decided according to the vehicle speed and the steering angle. Means M5 detects a direction of a lateral acceleration of a vehicle. Means M6 calculates a direction of an estimated lateral acceleration of the vehicle according to the vehicle speed and the steering angle. Means M7 determines whether or not the direction of the estimated lateral acceleration differs from that of the detected lateral acceleration. If it is determined that both the directions differ from each other, means M8 outputs to the means M1 a command for retaining the torsional quantity of the stabilizer to a predetermined value.
