Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an article having superior rust preventing performance with improved work efficiency by overlapping steel sheets each having a resin film consisting of electrically conductive short fibers and thermoplastic resin on the part to be resistance-welded and by carrying out resistance welding. CONSTITUTION:A resin film 2 consisting of thermoplastic resin and electrically conductive short fibers 31 is formed on the surface part of each steel sheet 1 to be resistance-welded and a paint film 3 is formed on the remaining surface part by coating by electrodeposition to produce coated metal members for resistance welding. The resin films 2 of the members are superposed, the fibers 31 are brought into contact with each other by pressing and resistance welding is carried out by supplying electric current.
