Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility in a thermoplastic resin to thereby enable injection molding and inflation molding directly without precompounding, by treating an inorganic filler with specified partially esterified tetracarboxylic acids. CONSTITUTION:This modified inorganic filler is obtained by treating an in organic filler with partially esterified tetracarboxylic acids of formulas I and/or II. In these formulas, R<1> and R<2> are each H or 1-8C alkyl; R<3>-R<6> are each H, 1-28C alkyl or alkenyl, provided that at least one of R<3>-R<6> is H; A is 1-4C alkylene; n is an integer of 0-5, provided that it is 0 when R is H. The amount of said partially esterified tetracarboxylic acids added is about 0.1-20wt.% based on the filler.
