Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a thermosetting resin composition excellent in the bending strength, bending modulus, abrasion resistance, etc. of a cured molding, by constituting it from a polyol polyallyl carbonate and an unsaturated polyester or a vinyl ester. CONSTITUTION:A thermosetting resin composition is produced by mixing a polyol polyallyl carbonate (A) [e.g., diethylene glycol bis(allyl carbonate)] with an unsaturated polyester or a vinyl ester (B) (e.g., dimethacrylate of an epoxy compound derivative of bisphenol A). The mixing ratio is suitably such that 20-80wt.% component A is present per 80-20wt.% component B. A thermoset resin obtained by copolymerizing component A with component B by heating the thermosetting resin composition can be used suitably for lenses, filters, vehicle members, construction members, etc.
