Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance operational safety and productivity by forming a speed control system in which feedback control is combined with open-loop control, and enabling swing preventing control over the entire section of movement of hanging cargo. CONSTITUTION: When hanging cargo is moved by a rotary crane to a target point by inputting commands from a microcomputer 7 and a control panel 6 and signals of detectors 3-5 for rotation angle, derricking angle, and position, the angular velocity of turning is varied in accordance with a preset speed control pattern so that the hanging cargo stands still at the completion of acceleration and deceleration. At the same time, linearization is effected near a target track as determined by the speed control pattern, and an optimum regulator is constructed to effect state feedback so that the target track determined by the speed control pattern is held over an entire area of movement so that the hanging cargo is prevented from swinging. Thus, adverse effects of the parameter errors of a dynamic model of the crane are seldom exercised, and safety and productivity can be enhanced as positioning accuracy is enhanced.
