Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable extraction of random number of printed books without disturbing flow of printed books by providing a temporal stopper for stopping the printed book temporarily and a pawl for scooping the printed book. CONSTITUTION:When a portion of printed book is extracted, a temporal stopper 11 is lowered temporarily to an operating position by means of an air cylinder 13. A printed book 3A traveling below a hooked pawl 11A at the tip of the temporal stopper 11 travels through the operating position as it is, but a following printed book 3B stops temporarily at the operating position with the tip thereof being hooked to the hooked pawl 11A. Upon elapse of predetermined time after lowering of the temporal stopper 11 to the operating position, a scoop pawl 15 is rolled around a pin 22 by means of the air cylinder and lowered to the operating position and the tip 15A thereof rides on the traveling printed book 3A in the downstream of the hooked pawl 11A. Upon elapse of predetermined time, the temporal stopper 11 rises. Consequently, the printed book 3B moves to the operating position and scooped by the scoop pawl 15.
