Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable cutting into a specified shape by providing a cutting margin commanding device, a board shape judging device, and a comparative operating device and operating milling cutters by means of a hydraulic servo which is driven based on the data of these devices. CONSTITUTION:Position detectors 24 which detect the positions of milling cutters 2 and input position signals into a comparative operating device 28 are provided in the vicinity of cylinders 6 respectively. Also, right and left cutting heads 1 which slide on a bed are moved not at the same width but separately by means of the right and left cylinders 6. As a workpiece 4 enters an end face cutting device 21, linear sensors 5 detect and monitor the A and B end faces of the board respectively, and a board shape judging device 27 judges the board shape from the signals of the linear sensors 5 and sends a signal to a comparative operating device 28. Then, the comparative operating device 28 gives a command to a hydraulic servo 26 to separately operate the cylinders 6, carrying out cutting into the shape as commanded.
