Abstract

PURPOSE:To stop a motor suddenly, by a method wherein a capacitor is charged with a voltage reverse to the voltage of a DC motor while said charging voltage is impressed on the motor in a direction, in which said voltage is added to the electromotive force of the motor, upon the stopping operation of the motor. CONSTITUTION:The braking circuit of a motor 6 is constituted of a transformer 1, a DC stabilizing power source 2, a switching element 3, a braking resistor 5, a starting and stopping switch 8, a wire feeding control circuit 7, set and inputted by a wire feeding speed setter 9, and the like. Further, the control circuit is provided with a limit resistor 21, connected to one end at the output side of the transformer 1, a rectifier 22, a capacitor 23, a transistor 24, a rotation and stopping detecting circuit 25 and a pulse generating circuit 27. Upon stopping the wire feeding, the control circuit 7 puts the switching element 3 OFF and stops the excitation of a driving coil. Further, a stop control circuit 26 puts the transistor 24 ON to conduct reverse-directional armature current through a capacitor 23 through the transistor 24 whereby a large static torque is generated and the motor can be stopped rapidly.
