Abstract
PURPOSE:To lead out a high quality laser beam wherein the ratio of the inner diameter to the outer diameter of a ring type beam (M-value) is approximately infinite, by arranging a phase compensating mirror in a resonator or outside the laser beam exit side of the resonator, the mirror cancelling the phase difference between a laser beam passing through a magnifying mirror and a laser beam passing through the periphery of the mirror. CONSTITUTION:A collimating mirror 1 and the reflecting film 20 of a convex mirror 4 constitute a so-called unstable type resonator. A laser beam 7 reflected and magnified by the reflecting film 20 of a convex mirror 4 is amplified by laser medium 3, and collimated in a parallel beam by a collimating mirror 1, which is lead out as a laser beam 8 from the convex mirror 4 to the outside. This laser beam 8 is constituted of a part 70 passing through a partial reflecting film 20 and a part 71 passing through a non-reflection coating film 5. The phase difference between them is compensated by a phase compensating mirror 9, and a solid equi-phase laser beam 8 is lead out to the outside. Since this laser beam is solid, M-value is equivalent to infinity.
