Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the safety on a road having a low coefficient (mu) of surface friction by controlling brake pressure according to a wheel most liable to slip from the time of detecting the start of braking until a reference vehicle velocity becomes less than a designated speed and controlling same by each wheel when it is less than a designated speed. CONSTITUTION:ECU of an anti-skid device is constructed so that electronic switches 32, 33 are switched to select circuits 26, 27 side by output of a comparison circuit 31 from the time of detecting the start of braking according to a signal of a brake switch BS until a reference vehicle speed estimated by an estimate circuit 25 becomes less than a designated car velocity of a setting circuit 30 and the brake pressure is controlled by control circuits 34, 35 according to wheel speed 21 or 24 and 22 or 23 of a wheel most liable to slip. Subsequently, when it becomes less than a designated car velocity, the electronic switches 32, 33 are switched to weighted mean circuits 28, 29 side, and brake pressure is controlled for each wheel by the control circuits 34, 35. Thus, during high-speed running, the right and left braking forces of a vehicle are equalized to secure the directional stability of the vehicle and when it becomes less than a designated speed, the vehicle is quickly stopped using frictional force of each wheel.
