Abstract

CONSTITUTION:An environmental humidity of a recorder is detected by a humidity sensor 12, and a pulse table corresponding to the detected relative humidity is read from a ROM 18. On the basis of the read pulse table, a recording head 6 is driven with a recording image signal, and an energy applying means in an image forming means is so controlled as to change the magnitude of the energy to be applied to a thermal transfer medium. For example, in the case of a small relative humidity and a small compressibility, the energy to be applied is increased, the contact area of the transfer medium with a recording paper is enlarged, whereby the quality of a transfer recording image is highly stabilized.
