Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a superconducting material of high superconducting critical temperature Tc to be used in a safer condition by providing a specific oxide superconducting material and a metal sheath body having a closed cross section enclosing the material in tight contact therewith and an internal surface treated against oxidation. CONSTITUTION:There are provided a perovskite or pseudo-perovskite type oxide superconducting material 1 so formed as to have a wire or tape shape and having a composition represented by the formula I, and a metal sheath body 2 with the internal surface thereof treated against oxidation and having a closed cross section enclosing the superconducting material 1 in close contact therewith. A in the formula is an element selected from group IIa elements of the periodic table, B is an element selected from group IIIa elements, C is an element selected from groups Ib to IIIb and group VIIIa elements and D is at least one element selected from among O, B(boron), C(carbon), N, F and S. Suffixes (w), (x) and (y) show positive numbers equal to 1 or less. The suffix (z) is a number between 1 and 5, both inclusive. According to the aforesaid construction, a superconducting material having a high TC can be used under a safer condition.
