Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain images without distortion in vertical and horizontal directions, by setting an offset angle in the horizontal direction at zero and using a horizontal distortion correcting circuit. CONSTITUTION:Reflecting mirror faces 101-104 are arranged so as to approximately intersect orthogonally with an axis 10b making 45 deg. with respect to a rotary shaft 10a, and a primary optical array photodetector 7 is provided on an optical path reflecting beams from the reflecting mirror faces 101-104 in the upper perpendicular direction. Therefore the center of the rotary angles of the reflecting mirror faces 101-104 coincides with that of a horizontal scanning range to set the offset angle in the horizontal direction at zero, thereby distortion in the vertical direction is hardly occurred. Since signals from respective photodetector are sample-held at a preset timing in response to distortion in the horizontal direction, said distortion can be corrected. Thus images free from distortion in the vertical and horizontal directions can be obtained.
