PURPOSE:To form rapidly the image of the titled material with super high contrast by incorporating a hydrazine derivative and a specified compd. in the titled material having an emulsion layer contg. a prescribed amount of silver iodide. CONSTITUTION:The titled material is composed of a negative type photosensitive material having the emulsion layer composed of a silver halide contg. 0.4-3.5mol.% silver iodide per 1mol. of silver. The emulsion layer or the another hydrophilic colloidal layer contd. in the negative type photosensitive material contains the hydrazine derivative and the compd. shown by the formula and has a color tone in the level in which a residual color is out of a problem. In the formula, Z<11> and Z<12> are each a nonmetal atomic group necessary for completing a benzoxazole nucleus or a benzothiazole nucleus, etc., R<11> and R<12> are each alkyl or aralkyl group, and at least one of the groups R<11> and R<12> contains an acidic group, X is a pair of ion, (n) is 0 or 1. the negative image with the super high contrast is formed by image-wisely exposing the titled material, followed by developing the obtd. material with the developer which contains a prescribed amount of sulfurous acid ion and has a prescribed pH.
