Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce an immobilized enzyme membrane having high activity and capable of stably keeping the activity over a long period, by using silk fibroin as the inclusion immobilization material for enzyme taking advantage of the structural characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A solution of regenerated silk fibroin produced by domesticated silkworm is mixed with 0.2% GOD (glucose oxidase) and the mixed solution is cast on an acrylic polymer plate and dried at 4 deg.C. The obtained GOD- immobilized silk fibroin membrane is insolubilized with methanol, fixed to a drawing device, stored in a sealed box at 20 deg.C and 90% relative humidity for 30min and then drawn for 10min at a prescribed draw ratio in an atmosphere having a relative humidity of 90% to stabilize the structure. A glucose sensor can be produced by covering an enzyme electrode with the obtained GOD-immobilized membrane of regenerated silk fibroin produced by domesticated silkworm.
