Abstract

PURPOSE:To exclude the lowering of sensitivity due to temp. change and to enhance the stability of operation, by sending out ultrasonic waves from vibration surfaces having different curvatures and flattening a synthetic frequency characteristic over a predetermined range before and behind center frequency. CONSTITUTION:A columnar polymer piezoelectric film vibrator 25 having a radius R1 of curvature is fixed to a reflector 14 having a flat part 24 and a piezoelectric film vibrator 26 having a different radius R2 of curvature is fixed to one end of said vibrator 25. The vibrators 25, 26 respectively show frequency characteristics having resonance frequency at an apex and united frequency shows an almost flat frequency characteristic with respect to the center resonance frequency during frequency change due to temp. As mentioned above, by flattening the synthetic frequency characteristic of ultrasonic waves over a predetermined range before and after the center frequency, the lowering of sensitivity due to wide temp. change is prevented and a signal processing circuit is simplified and operation is stabilized.
