Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce the titled high purity zeolite useful as a builder for a detergent by mixing an aq. sodium aluminate soln. with an aq. sodium silicate soln. under special conditions and carrying out crystallization. CONSTITUTION:An aq. sodium aluminate soln. at <=40 deg.C is mixed with an aq. sodium silicate soln. at <=40 deg.C so as to regulate the concn. of zeolite to 25-60wt.% and the concn. of alkali in mother liquor to 14-30wt.% (expressed in terms of NaOH). The resulting reactive soln. is brought into a hydrothermal reaction and crystallization by heating to 30-110 deg.C to obtain crystalline A type zeolite having >=60% crystallinity and <=0.5mum average particle size.
