Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an outdoor unit which is capable of being operated on the low level of vibration and noise and which has superbly beautiful appearances by providing an outdoor side heat exchanger on the front side of a main body equipped with a rotary compressor and providing an oblique flow fan opposed to said heat exchanger and further providing outlet ports out of which heat-exchanged air is blown on the upper and lower portions of the main body and on the side portion thereof. CONSTITUTION:An outdoor unit is set in such a manner as to be placed on the ground 47 and abutted against the wall surface 48 of a house. During the operation of said unit, the external air is sucked in by the revolution of an oblique flow fan 42 through an air inlet port 33 provided on the front surface 32 of the unit. After the external air thus sucked in passes through an outdoor side heat exchanger 41 and is heat-exchanged, it is regulated by a fan bell mouth 43 to concentrically flow to the oblique flow fan 42 and then is blown out of air outlet ports 36, 37a and 37b provided respectively on the left side surface 34 of the unit and on the rear end portions 35a, 35b of the upper and lower surfaces thereof. The air blown out of the outlet port 37b provided on the lower surface as one of these outlet ports is blown out of a lower part 39a on the front side of the unit to the exterior thereof through an outlet space 39 provided by support legs 40. Since the oblique flow fan 42 and the like in the interior are not seen from the outside owing to a front panel 32a and the outdoor side heat exchanger 41, the beauty of the external appearance of the unit is improved.
