Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer sheet in which a dye is not transferred to a heat resistant layer when it is stored by winding and to which adhesion of a roll does not occur in a transit equipment, by making a heat resistant slip layer contain an alkali metal salt or an alkali earth metal salt of a phosphate of which a hydrophobic group is a hydrocarbon group of straight-chain aliphatics. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer layer 2 is laminated on a base material sheet 1, and a heat resistant slip layer 4 is provided on its opposite face via a heat resistant layer 3. The resistant slip layer 4 is composed of (A) a reaction product of polyvinyl butyral and isocyanate groups, (B) alkali metal salt or alkali earth metal salt of phosphate, and (C) a layer which has filler principally. As an alkali metal salt or an alkali earth metal salt of phosphate, that of which a number of carbons of alkyl group is preferably 10-20. Further, that of which the hydrophobic group of phosphate is straight-chain aliphatics, is especially preferable. When those salts are used as a lubricating additive of the heat resistant slip layer, though the thermal transfer layer comes very close to the heat resistant slip layer, those salts are never transferred to the thermal transfer layer, and contamination of the thermal transfer layer does not occur.
