Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the period of construction by a method in which a bulk head for water stopping is pressingly contacted with a dam and on the basis of the bulk head an outlet is newly constructed. CONSTITUTION:A given position on the upstream side of a dam A for which a water outlet is newly constructed is cleaned, and a shell 1 having an opening 4 with a water-stop packing 5 on its one side and a coffering flange 9 on its upside is hung down. The opening 4 is primarily contacted in a pressing manner, water in the inside is discharged, the opening 4 is secondarily contacted likewise, and a shaft 33 is connected to the flange 9. Water in the shaft 33 is discharged and the flange 9 is removed. The water outlet B is formed by excavation and provided with an outlet gate 36, and the shaft 33 and the shell 1 are removed. A gate-opening and closing device is then attached to the gate 36. Since the needs for temporarily setting water-stop sheet piles as in the conventional case can be eliminated, the construction period can be shortened.
