Abstract
PURPOSE:To synergistically enhance detection sensitivity and to make the title apparatus general-purpose and compact, by pressing a soft package under reduced pressure and inspecting the hermetically sealed state of the package on the basis of the difference between the pressure reflecting the pressure in the soft package and the pressure in a vacuum chamber. CONSTITUTION:In an apparatus for inspecting whether there is abnormality in the hermetically sealed state of a soft package, for example, seal inferiority or pinhole, a vacuum chamber 1 is equipped with a diaphragm 7 having a liquid 10 sealed therein and a press plate 14 pressing a soft package 50 to the diaphragm 7. A difference pressure detection terminal 12 detects the difference between the liquid pressure in the diaphragm and the pressure in the vacuum chamber 1 and, as said detection terminal 12, a commercial difference pressure sensor can be used. The press operation of the press plate 14 is performed, for example, by the power of a small motor 21 through a slide block 15, a screw shaft 17 and gears 22,23. Numerals 19, 20 respectively show limit switches determing the upper and lower limits of the press plate, a numerical 28 shows a vacuum pump for evacuating the vacuum chamber 1 and numerals 8a, 8b show air permeable buffer materials.
