Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber composition giving a vulcanized rubber having excellent heat resistance and good water resistance, by compounding hydrotalcite as an acid acceptor, an epoxy resin and a vulcanization accelerator agent. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. (hereinafter referred to as pts.) of a chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber having a chlorine content of 25-45wt.% (hereinafter referred to as %), preferably approximately 35% and a sulfur content of 0.9-11%, preferably approximately 1% is compounded with (B) 1-30pts. of hydrotalcite, (C) 1-20pts. of an epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent of preferably 100-5,000, especially a bisphenol A type epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent of 160-200, (D) 1-5pts. of a vulcanization accelerator (e.g.; dipentamethylene thiuram tetrasulfide) and optionally sulfur, pentaerythritol, an antiaging agent, a reinforcing material, a softening agent, etc.
