Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain thick block-shaped graphite having superior characteristics as graphite including locking characteristics by heat-treating arom. polyimide at a specified temp. or above and press-bonding the resulting plural carbonaceous films under specified conditions of temp. and pressure. CONSTITUTION:Arom. polyimide is heat-treated at >=2,200 deg.C and the resulting plural carbonaceous films are press-bonded in a temp. range of >=1,600 deg.C under >=4kg/cm<2> pressure.
