Abstract

PURPOSE:To double the resolution in a vertical direction, by displaying a video for left eye on a scanning line position interlaced in first and third fields, and displaying video for right eye on a scanning line position interlaced in second and fourth fields. CONSTITUTION:In the first field, video signals for left eye are displayed on scanning line positions 1-262, and in the second field, video signals for right eye image picked up on 264th-525th scanning lines are displayed also on the scanning line positions 1-262. In the third field, video signals for left eye image picked up on the first-262th scanning lines are displayed on the scanning line positions 264-525, further in the fourth field, video signals image picked up on the 264th-525th scanning lines are displayed on the same positions.
